A Legacy of Heritage, Hospitality & Heart

Jharipani Castle is more than just a destination it is a living story of revival, passion, and timeless charm. Originally built in 1932 by the British as a guest house and boarding retreat for travelling officers and soldiers, the estate was once owned by Crown Breweries. Post-independence, it came under the royal family of the Maharaja of Patiala, serving as their tranquil summer retreat—fondly known then as Patiala House. In 2003, drawn by a love for nature and the serenity of the hills, Mr. and Mrs. Bahri acquired the heritage property and began an extraordinary journey of restoration.

What began in 2005 as Uttarakhand’s first Swiss tent resort, slowly evolved into a 5-room homestay lovingly restored by the family to its original glory. Under the dedicated management of their son, the Castle has become a hallmark of warmth and elegance, blending personal hospitality with professional excellence. Today, Jharipani Castle is celebrated as one of Mussoorie’s top-rated heritage stays, consistently ranked in the Top 10 on TripAdvisor and a proud recipient of the Travellers’ Choice Award for over a decade. Every guest is welcomed like family, with bespoke service, heartfelt care, and the magic of the mountains all around.
